The Hebron JV Boys Basketball Team was defeated by the River Forest Ingots on Feb. 23 by the score of 51-50. It was a close game all night. Hebron had their biggest deficit of 6 points with 1 minute left. The Hawks got a couple of steals and baskets to cut into the lead. Hebron continued to make a comeback and scored to take the lead with 15 seconds left. River Forest came back and hit a tough shot with less than 10 seconds left. After a turnover, a last second steal and shot by the Hawks was a bit off as the time ran out. Leading the Hawks in scoring was Matt Kubiak with 18 points, Rhyker Schatz and Peyton Syrovatka each had 12, Mike Briggs had 6, and Malachi Lara had 2. Hebron finishes the season with an overall record of 16-6. This ties this team with 3 other Hebron JV boys teams for the 8th highest win total in a season in the 87 year history of Hebron HS basketball. The young Hawks also finished with a 5-2 record in the PCC and were the winners of the PCC JV basketball tournament. Great Season Guys!
