Hebron scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge Peru 4-3 and was shut out by Winamac 6-0 in Saturday’s Wabash tournament.
Molly Friel tripled in two runs and scored in the third inning, when the Hawks did the bulk of their scoring. Emily Michalak scored the winning run after pinch running for Rebecca Gill, who led off the inning with a single.
Brooke Cunningham allowed seven hits, walked one and struck out seven to claim the win.
Halie Kinkade had three of Hebron’s four hits in the loss to Winamac. Cunningham was touched up for eight hits and four walks while fanning seven.
