Hebron placed four runners in the top 12 to claim second in the Porter County Conference meet Saturday at Boone Grove.
The Hawks were runners-up to Morgan Township, 35-63, as the Cherokees extended their string of titles to six.
Connor Williams (seventh, 17:32) led Hebron, just ahead of Cody Noel (17:33), with Jacob Stewart 11th (17:53) and Noah Weaver 12th (17:57). Robert Summerville (24th, 19:21) rounded out the Hawks’ scorers, followed by Max Pastrick (25th, 19:23) and Patrick Adamczyk (32nd, 20:31).
Morgan’s Owen Thomas (16:43) was individual champion.
In the girls race, the Cherokees also pushed their run of championships to six, topping Kouts 33-52. South Central’s Adelaide Young Brust won the race in 20:12.
Hebron (116), which edged Boone Grove for a distant third on a sixth-runner tie-breaker, was paced by Madison Elijah (15h, 22:53) with sister Sidney 19th in 23:34. Lia Panagiotidis crossed 22nd in 22:48 with Qwen Weaver 29th (25:46) and Gabby Wagoner 31st (25:54) to complete the Hawk’s top five. Hope Slusser (26:22) placed 32nd and Kylie Cole 37th (28:18).
