Travis Patrick Throws Shutout As Hebron Hawks Varsity Defeats North Newton to reach the Sectional finals.
Travis Patrick didn’t allow a single run as Hebron Hawks Varsity defeated North Newton 14-0 on Saturday. Travis Patrick allowed just three hits and induced a groundout from Kevin McCann to end the game.
Luke Woodward led Hebron Hawks Varsity to victory by driving in four runs. He went 3-for-3 at the plate. Woodward drove in runs on a single in the first, a in the fourth, and a single in the fifth.
Hebron Hawks Varsity captured the lead in the first inning. Hebron Hawks Varsity scored one run when Woodward singled with one out in the first inning.
Hebron Hawks Varsity scored six runs in the fifth inning. Hebron Hawks Varsity scored on a single by Woodward, a single by Tyler Patrick, a double by Chad Patrick, and a single by Travis Patrick.
A single by Cole Wedding in the third inning was a positive for North Newton.
Travis Patrick earned the win for Hebron Hawks Varsity. He tossed five innings, giving up zero runs, three hits, striking out four, and walking one. Kyle Beedle took the loss for North Newton. He threw four innings, surrendering nine runs, nine hits, and striking out one.
Hebron Hawks Varsity collected 15 hits. Woodward, Jake Everaert, Chad Patrick, Travis Patrick, and Mark Martin each collected multiple hits for Hebron Hawks Varsity. Chad Patrick and Woodward each drove in four runs to lead Hebron Hawks Varsity. Hebron Hawks Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Everaert had the most chances in the field with six.
North Newton didn’t commit a single error in the field. Colt Wagner had the most chances in the field with five.
Hebron plays Boone Grove at 10 a.m. in the sectional finals!
